By public transport:
The KERN branch is located about 200 metres from Essen Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). The branch is easily accessible by bus and train. Get off at Essen Hauptbahnhof and take the north exit out of the station to the city centre. You will first arrive at Willy-Brandt-Platz. You can see the Anson's building from here. Both our office and our classrooms are located inside. Although the address reads "Kettwiger Straße 3", the entrance is located on Kapuzinergasse.
By car:
Depending on the direction you are coming from:
- From Bochum or Dortmund:
Follow the A40 in the direction of Essen-Zentrum. Keep right at the Essen-Huttrop junction, then continue along Kaisershofstraße towards Essen-Huttrop. In 100 metres, continue along Von-der-Tann-Straße again in the direction of Essen. In 410 metres, keep to the right on the L448/Steeler Straße and continue along this road. Continue to drive straight ahead on "I. Dellbrügge" street, cross Bernestraße and Gildehofstraße, and take the second left onto Akazienallee. The entrance to the Akazienallee car park will be on your left in 20 metres. You can then reach Kettwiger Straße (pedestrianised zone and main shopping street) on foot by going down "II Dellbrügge", which is diagonally opposite the car park entrance. Cross the road and you will arrive at Kapuzinergasse. The entrance to the KERN branch is on this road.
- From Mülheim/Ruhr or Duisburg:
Follow the A40 and take the exit marked "Essen-Zentrum/Friedrichstraße". From here, go straight on towards the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). Drive past the main railway station, keeping it on your left. You will arrive at a T-junction immediately afterwards. Here, turn left onto Bernestraße, change into the right-hand lane and go straight ahead at the traffic lights. After you have gone past the traffic lights, take the second left onto Akazienallee. The entrance to the Akazienallee car park will be on your left in 20 metres. You can then reach Kettwiger Straße (pedestrianised zone and main shopping street) on foot by going down "II Dellbrügge", which is diagonally opposite the car park entrance. - From Düsseldorf
Follow the A52 motorway and take the exit marked "Essen-Süd/Zentrum". Then drive straight ahead on Richard-Wagner-Straße, which then becomes Helbingstraße. You will drive through a short tunnel after about 3 km (about 1.9 miles); the main railway station is located above you. At this point, change into the left-hand lane and take a left right after the tunnel. (You can find your way by following signs to the "Volkshochschule".) Change into the right-hand lane straight immediately, then go straight ahead at the next traffic lights. After you have gone past the traffic lights, take the second left onto Akazienallee. The entrance to the Akazienallee car park will be on your left in 20 metres. You can then reach Kettwiger Straße (pedestrianised zone and main shopping street) on foot by going down "II Dellbrügge", which is diagonally opposite the car park entrance.
