KERN has been represented in Germany's southernmost major city since the branch opened here in 2008. Our branch is located in the inner city and is quickly accessible on foot or by all other means of public transport from the main railway station.

By public transport:
From Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), take tram line 1 (towards Littenweiler), line 3 (towards Vauban) or line 5 (towards Rieselfeld). Get off at "Bertoldsbrunnen". The tram stop for lines 3 and 5 is located directly by the KERN branch.
By car:
- From the A5 - Exit the A5 motorway at junction 62 (Freiburg Mitte). Follow the B31a along the River Dreisam towards Freiburg Mitte (centre).
Turn left onto Kaiserbrücke and continue straight onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. In 200 metres, turn left onto Rempartstraße and then right onto Humboldstraße. Here you can use the main university building car park. Exiting the car park and walking a few hundred metres down Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, the high street, you will find the KERN office directly by Martinstor. - From the direction of Villingen-Schwenningen/Donaueschingen , take the B31 towards Freiburg. Follow the B31 through the Schützenalleetunnel and turn right onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße towards the Innenstadt (city centre). In 200 metres, turn left onto Rempartstraße, then in 100 metres right onto Humboldstraße. Here you can use the car park of the main university building. After leaving the car park and walking a few hundred metres down Kaiser-Joseph-Straße, the high street, you will find the KERN branch directly by Martinstor (medieval gate tower).
