Munich is the state capital and also the largest city of the Free State of Bavaria, with over 1.3 million inhabitants. The city is one of Germany's most important economic, transport and cultural centres and is one of the most prosperous cities in Europe. Munich is the centre of the Munich Metropolitan Region, which has around 2.6 million inhabitants; the urban core of the extended metropolitan region, the Greater Munich Area, which has around 6 million inhabitants; and the administrative centre of the Upper Bavaria district, which has around 4.3 million inhabitants.
Marienplatz station for underground lines U3 and U6, all S-Bahn (suburban) trains (take Rindermarkt exit) and bus number 52. The KERN language centre is located directly on Marienplatz – opposite the town hall and at the same height as the Marian column – on the 4th floor above the Vodafone shop (lift).
Arrival by car is not recommended as KERN's office is right in the pedestrian zone. The nearest car park is the Galeria Kaufhof Munich car park on Marienplatz (the entrance is at the rear of Kaufhof).
