Website Localisation
In this current Internet age, multilingual company websites are more common and are becoming an international standard. To ensure internationalisation of a website, it is often necessary to vastly adapt the existing HTML files, Flash files, graphic files, scripts, etc.
Through our website localisation process we ensure that the information and/or codes (font, date, time, currency and number formats, contact information, colours and text alignment, etc.) meet the expectations of your international target group. More complex websites are often based on a Content Management System (CMS) such as Typo3, Contenido, Joomla, Modx, etc., which can only be adjusted online. Here we mainly use “CMS Extraction” tools that help us manage the quality assurance process.
The following items must be considered and processed during a website localisation project:
- Text in script files (e.g. Java or ASP scripts)
- Adaptation of FAQs and help files
- Creation of hyperlinks in the target language as in the source language
- Special characters and fonts of the target language must be presentable
- Checking of the layout and fonts in the current browsers
- Text in buttons and graphics must be edited and prepared
Our website localisation specialists usually work directly in the HTML files, except with CMS websites. This reduces the time needed to insert translations or re-format files. The websites are then ready for an upload straight away.
